Political Science

Dear students,

Political Science (PS) ranges across diverse areas of socio-political and economic inquiry. As a field of study, it is interconnected with different disciplines in social sciences and humanities. Students explore the ideas of great thinkers, war and peace, political systems, political parties, the system of governance, political participation, comparative politics, political economy, human rights, citizenship, international relations, international law, diplomacy, foreign policy, and security. The Political Core courses in international relations, diplomacy, and security studies enrich our Political Science program. We offer a number of specialized courses and thus cover all major fields in political science, including political theory, comparative politics, international politics, international relations, and public policy. Our students cover these fields in the context of the domestic and international politics and issues.

Bachelor Studies in PS

Political Science (PS) is designed for students eager to explore and understand the complexity of the ever-changing world. In addition to the study of international politics, international relations, political theory, comparative politics, and public policy, PS majors seek to explain the system of governance, state institutions, legitimate use of power, and political participation. The ultimate objective is to comprehend how power, authority, rules, constitutions, laws, ideologies, policies and government programs affect the individual and social aspects of life. How they affect our lives from the domestic, international, and comparative perspectives?

That is why our professors engage students in discussions about domestic and global questions, issues, and events that shape our lives and politics around the world. Political Science, as a broad discipline, studies individual and collective human behavior, which is aimed at an understanding of the complexity of personal, social, economic, cultural, and political aspects of life. PS as such is interesting as it is directly related to our personal and social aspects of life. There are numerous examples of how government and politics affect our life on a daily basis. For instance, public decisions on education, healthcare, taxation, human rights, environment, and security are inescapable.
